How we install your deck

A great deck is only as good as the structure beneath it, so we take the groundwork as seriously as the finish. Our experienced in-house team follows a clear process from survey to final clean.

Groundwork and the sub-frame

We start by clearing and levelling the area, then build a strong, properly supported sub-frame. Depending on the ground and the height of the deck, that means setting secure posts and footings or laying a stable base, with joists spaced correctly to take the load without flexing. A solid, level frame is what stops a deck from sagging or bouncing later on.

Drainage and ventilation

Good drainage is essential, especially in our climate. We make sure water runs away from the deck and the house rather than pooling beneath it, and we leave room for air to circulate under the boards. Laying the boards, edging and finish
